Parent Training Series Modules
A Training Series for Parents in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis
Introduction:We are excited to offer for the first time a training series of prerecorded videos developed specifically to assist families and children during these challenging times of COVID. These new modules are offered by the Morris-Union Jointure Commission to parents, caregivers, relatives, and others involved with a child who has been diagnosed with a pervasive developmental disorder, but they are also extremely helpful for parents, caregivers, relatives and others of a child with other disabilities. These modules are an attempt to address some key issues, give participants some direction regarding where to go for assistance, provide everyone with the support of other individuals who are in similar situations, and give all participants an opportunity to interact with professionals who work with children with autism and behavioral disabilities. In addition, these modules will teach the skills to develop and implement skill acquisition and behavior management programs for your child in a variety of settings.
Topics:These modules will cover basic background information on autism, applied behavior analysis, various instructional methodologies, social and emotional learning, transition and behavior analysis, various instructional methodologies, social and emotional learning, transition and behavior management approaches.
Participants:In the past we have had parents, grandparents, siblings, babysitters, child study team members, and therapists attend these sessions. We have found that when more people involved with your child participate in these webinars, it helps to ensure consistency in your child’s programming and enhance his/her daily progress. You may participate in any one or all of the webinars offered, but we strongly urge you to attend all of them because each session builds upon the previous session(s).The MUJC offers this course at no cost to participants. The Parent Training Series will be three (3) one-hour webinars.
