Parent Training Series Webinars
A Training Series for Parents in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis
We are pleased to offer our Parent Training Series Webinars. These webinars are offered to anyone who is involved with a child who has been diagnosed with a pervasive developmental disorder. When you initially receive the diagnosis of autism, Asperger's Syndrome, PDD/NOS, or any of the disorders along the spectrum, there may be many unanswered questions and concerns that arise. If your child is older, there may be new situations in which you need assistance or have questions. This series is an attempt to answer some of those questions, give you some direction regarding where to go for assistance, provide you with the support of other parents who are in similar situations, and give you an opportunity to interact with professionals who work with children with autism.
The webinars will cover basic background information on autism, applied behavior analysis, various instructional methodologies and behavior management approaches. The series will be in the form of interactive lecture presentations. We will also help participants target and address a challenging behavior they may be experiencing in the home by assisting in designing and implementing a behavior management plan.
In the past we have had parents, grandparents, siblings, babysitters, child study team members, and therapists attend these sessions. We have found that when more people involved with your child participate in these webinars, it helps to ensure consistency in your child’s programming and enhance his/her daily progress. You may participate in any one or all of the webinars offered, but we strongly urge you to attend all of them because each session builds upon the week before.
Information regarding the Fall 2020 series will be posted soon. For further information, please call Ursula Nazar, Administrative Assistant, at 908-464-7625, ext. 1112 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
