PROP

PROP (Parents Reaching Out to Parents) is the DLC parent organization. PROP serves as a resource to parents for information pertaining to autism and the DLC. PROP serves the following functions:

Carnival
The carnival is a PROP-sponsored event that allows family members to participate in carnival games and activities.

Fund Raising
PROP receives its funds from membership fees and fundraisers. The proceeds are used to support various DLC activities such as the carnival, Staff Appreciation Day, purchase of special equipment for the schools, and materials for the parent/staff library.

Informational
PROP members operate the DLC parent/staff library. They also publish the monthly PROP calendar and bulletin as well as PROP Perspective.

Parent Library
The PROP library contains resources including books, videos, DVDs, and articles on autism.

Representative
PROP attends the MUJC Board of Education meetings. PROP members attend the MUJC Parent Advisory Board meetings and participate in Brown Bag meetings.

Support
PROP provides a forum for parents to communicate with and help each other. PROP publishes a directory of resources that lists doctors and therapists that families have used.
