Miscellaneous
Attendance
In order to benefit from any educational program, regular and punctual attendance is essential. When circumstances necessitate the absence of a student, parents are requested to call the school office and leave a message with the school nurse. Please call to report the child's absence before 9:00 a.m. When leaving a message, include the following information: child's name, classroom teacher, and reason for absence.
The school nurse will call the parents on the morning of the absence if a call was not received.
If a child will be arriving late or will be leaving early, please notify the school office upon arrival, and sign the child in or out in the school office.
Lunches
Each DLC has a full-service cafeteria. The school cafeteria serves hot lunches and breakfasts designed to offer well-balanced, nutritional meals. Once a month a Gluten/Casein free lunch is offered. Menus are sent home each month. Lunch boxes/bags should be labeled with the child's name. Refrigeration and heating are not available for student lunches. When necessary, please use thermal containers.
Personal Property
MUJC is not responsible for any student's personal property that is damaged, lost, or stolen during the school day. This includes glasses, iipods, DVD players etc. Please clearly label all of your child's personal belongings.
Photographs/Videotaping
A photo consent form is sent home at the beginning of each school year. Students will only by photographed or videotaped if written permission has been given. Students are photographed and videotaped throughout the school year during field trips and other classroom activities.
Parents may request a videotape of their child during various school activities. This videotape gives the parents an understanding of their child's school day, specific curriculum programs or special activities. Videotape requests can be made through the school office.
Transportation
The sending district provides transportation to and from the DLC. All transportation arrangements should be made through your district. Any concerns about your child's transportation services should be discussed with your district.
