DLC Swimming Programs

The Tokash Aquatic Center at the DLC-Warren features two separate pools, including a 50-meter competition pool, and a zero entry leisure/instructional pool. The center is utilized during the school day for a variety of aquatic programs for all of the MUJC students at each of the three DLC sites. Programs include: instructional swimming classes; leisure/recreational swimming sessions: and swim club activities. During all programs developmentally appropriate instruction is provided by school staff and includes a variety of movement concepts and fundamental aquatic skills that promote swimming readiness and safety. Basic aquatic programs allow the students to successfully participate in elementary swimming skills and progress at their own pace to a more advanced level of skills. Students are also introduced to aquatic physical fitness concepts that assist in promoting a healthy life style and opportunities for learning productive leisure time skills.
