Music Program
The music program sponsored by the MUJC offers the opportunity for students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 to participate in large-group music experiences. Students of the participating school districts join their talents to form a single orchestra, chorus, concert band, and jazz band.
This combining of talents produces the outstanding student performance that has become the MUJC’s annual end-of-school-year music festival.
An advisory committee comprised of representatives from participating districts oversees the planning, preparation, and rehearsals for the performances. The vocal and instrumental teachers from participating schools lend their expertise in managing and conducting the bands, choruses, and orchestras.
The 2012 Music Festival will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at New Providence High School, which is located at 35 Pioneer Drive, New Providence, NJ 07974. Performances are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
THE DRESS CODE FOR THE CONCERT ON JUNE 3, 2012 is: White Shirt and Black Pants/Skirt and Dark Shoes.
