Requirements for Employment
The criminal history record check is a three (3) phase process for individuals who have not processed their fingerprints through MorphoTrust and are seeking employment with an educational facility. On the other hand, the criminal history record check is a two (2) phase process for individuals who have been previously fingerprinted by MorphoTrust (formerly Sagem Morpho and MorphoTrak) after February 21, 2003. The process is:
Step 1: submission of the written authorization for the department to conduct the criminal history record check and the payment of the administrative fee to the CHRU.
Step 2: schedule an appointment with MorphoTrust to LiveScan your fingerprint images. Individuals, whose fingerprints were previously processed for public school employment, are eligible for the Archive Submission Process and are not required to schedule an appointment with MorphoTrust.
Step 3: a criminal record search by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Jersey State Police will be processed.
Upon completion of the ePayment process, new applicants may access MorphoTrust to schedule an appointment to LiveScan their fingerprints through a link on the CHRU website.
